Installing Cylinder Head Cover - Right Cylinder Bank

Information
For installation, the crankshaft must be locked in position.
Information
- Sealant must not get into the threaded bores.
- Clean sealing surfaces.
- Replace seal.
- Oil the running surfaces of the camshafts.
- Check that hydraulic tappets and valve levers art fitted correctly.
- Install cylinder head cover -21-
.

Chain housing cover on right cylinder bank
- 5.1 Dispose of old cylinder head cover screws -1 to 20- and have new cylinder head cover screws -1 to 20- ready.
- 5.2
Apply uniform beads of sealant approx. 3.0 mm in diameter all the way around the sealing faces on the cylinder head cover -21-
.
Install cylinder head cover within 5 minutes of applying the sealant bead.
- 5.3 > T40116 - Locating pins must be inserted through the bores in the cylinder head cover -21- . Then, fit and screw them in on the cylinder head.
- 5.4 Fit cylinder head cover -21- on > T40116 - locating pins on the cylinder head.
- 5.5 Screw in and tighten new
screws on cylinder head cover -1 to 20-
.
> Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
> Torque angle + 90°
- Connect and lock electric plug connections for camshaft sensors -1-
.

- Secure line bracket -1-

- 7.1 Fit line bracket -1- on the threaded bolts.
- 7.2
Screw on and tighten nuts for line bracket -2-
.
> Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
- Secure holder -1-
.

- 8.1 Fit holder -1- on threaded bolts.
- 8.2
Screw on and tighten nuts on holder -2-
.
> Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
- Install holder for solenoid valves -1-
.

- 9.1 Fit holder -1- .
- 9.2
Screw on and tighten nuts on holder -3-
.
> Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
- 9.3 Insert solenoid valves -2- in holder -1- .
