Removing Camshaft Controller Actuator

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 
    • Avoid contact with hot fluid.
    • Wear personal protective gear.
  1. Only for removing camshaft controller actuator on intake side of cylinder bank 1: 

    Disconnect coolant hose -1-  .

    Coolant hose

    1. 1.1  Loosen spring band clamp -2-  using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamps pliers  .
    2. 1.2  Pull off coolant hose -1-  and set it aside.
    3. 1.3  Collect emerging coolant using suitable aids and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
  2. Remove camshaft controller actuator -3-  .

    Camshaft controller actuator

    1. 2.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  .
    2. 2.2  Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
    3. 2.3  Remove camshaft controller actuator -3-  (on outlet side: with heat shield).
