Measuring Piston-Ring End Clearance
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Insert piston ring into the cylinder from the top to about 15 mm from the lower edge of the cylinder at a right angle to the cylinder wall.
Use a piston with no piston rings to slide it in.
- Measure piston-ring end clearance.

- 2.1 Guide a feeler gauge into the gap on the piston ring and determine the value. > Piston-ring end clearance
| Piston ring | New in mm | Wear limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1st compression ring | 0.15-0.25 | 0.35 |
| 2nd compression ring | 0.30-0.45 | 0.55 |
| Oil scraper ring | Cannot be measured | - |
