Preliminary Work
- Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage vehicle electrical system.

- Isolate the high-voltage system from the power supply.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Disconnect the battery.
Refer to Removing and installing vehicle electrical system battery in the appropriate service information.
- Remove air cleaner housing.
Refer to Removing and installing air cleaner housing in the appropriate service information.
- Remove intake manifold.
Refer to Removing and installing intake manifold (V6 biturbo) in the appropriate service information.
- Remove torque support.
Refer to Removing and installing torque support in the appropriate service information.
- Remove air-cleaner cowl.
Refer to Removing and installing air box for air cleaner in the appropriate service information.
- Only for vehicles with particle filter:
Remove exhaust temperature sensors.
> 267219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EXHAUST TEMPERATURE SENSOR (V6 TURBO)
- Only for vehicles with particle filter:
Remove oxygen sensors downstream of catalytic converter.

- Detach air-conditioning compressor and suspend it at a suitable position.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Drain coolant.

- Remove both coolant reservoirs.
- Disconnect supply line at the connection point in the engine compartment.

- Remove both front wheel housing liners.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Loosen front brake callipers and hang them to the side.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Remove exhaust system.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Remove cardan shaft.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Remove front-axle support.
Refer to the appropriate service information.
- Only if automatic transmission is removed following removal:
Remove power-steering gear.
