Removing Fuel Line

Danger of scalding
- → Allow the fuel to cool down before opening line connections.
- → Wear protective gloves.
- → Wear protective goggles.

The rules relating to cleanliness and instructions for working on the fuel system must always be observed before and during the work.

Information

Open connections and lines must be closed off using suitable stoppers or caps.

Disconnect plug connection for actuator for camshaft controller.

Adjacent fuel line connections
1. 1.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1- .
2. 1.2 Unclip line bracket -2- .
Have suitable stoppers or caps ready for closing off the line connections.
Disconnect coolant pipe -1- .

Coolant pipe
1. 3.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2- .
2. 3.2 Have suitable aids ready for collecting emerging coolant.
3. 3.3 Disconnect coolant pipe -1- and leave it hanging.

- Open connections and lines must be closed off using suitable stoppers or caps.
Information

Check fuel line for damage following removal and replace it if necessary.
Remove fuel line -1- .

Fuel line
1. 4.1 Press sound absorber aside and unscrew union nut -2- using >T40055 - socket-wrench insert .
2. 4.2 Unscrew union nut -3- using >T40055 - socket-wrench insert .
3. 4.3 Unscrew and remove screws -4- .
4. 4.4 Guide out the fuel line -1- .
