Installing High-Pressure Pump

Information
- Replace O-ring.
- Insert roller tappet into the cylinder head.
- Turn the crankshaft until the roller tappet is set to the lowest point.
- Insert high-pressure pump -8-
and screw-in screws -7-
by hand.
Screws on high-pressure pump
- Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe a drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting.
- Align fuel lines -6-
without tension and screw in union nuts -5-
hand-tight.
Fuel lines (high-pressure)
- Tighten screws on high-pressure pump -7-
.
> Initial tightening 20 Nm (14.8 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 45°
Screws on high-pressure pump
- Tighten union nuts on fuel high-pressure lines -5-
.
Low-pressure side:
> Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.)
> Torque angle 60°
High-pressure side:
> Tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)
> Torque angle 60°
Union nuts on fuel lines (high-pressure)
- Clip electric plug connection to high-pressure pump -4-
and lock it.
