Removing Supply Line - Section From Engine To High-Pressure Pump

Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

- → Ventilate the work area well.
- → Never ingest or inhale.
- → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

Information

Escaping fuel must be soaked up using suitable binding material.
The fuel system must be depressurized before starting work on it.
Only work on the fuel system in well-ventilated rooms.
Any seals that were removed must always be replaced.
Never use sealant containing silicone or silicone spray when the injection system is open. Traces of silicone drawn in by the engine are not combusted and damage the oxygen sensors.

Information

Plastic lines must not be kinked or bent as this can make them brittle and start to leak.

Have suitable aids ready for collecting emerging fuel.
Have suitable stoppers ready for closing off the line connections.
Loosen supply line -1- and disconnect it at connection point in engine compartment.

Supply line - connection point in engine compartment
1. 3.1 Release and disconnect quick connector -2- .
2. 3.2 Collect escaping fuel.
3. 3.3 Close off line connections with stoppers.
4. 3.4 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -3- .
5. 3.5 Pull tank vent valve -5- up off the holder -6- .
6. 3.6 Unscrew nuts on holder -4- and remove holder -6- .
Remove supply line -1- .

Removing supply line
1. 4.1 Unscrew screw on line bracket -2- .
2. 4.2 Open line bracket -3- and remove supply line -1- .
3. 4.3 Unscrew union nut on supply line -4- and remove supply line -1- .
4. 4.4 Collect escaping fuel.
5. 4.5 Close off line connections with stoppers.
