Installing Cylinder Head Cover (Cylinder Bank 1)

Information
Before fitting the cylinder head cover, check that the rocker arms are aligned correctly.
- Replace seal -1-
.
Seal on cylinder head cover (cylinder bank 1)
- 1.1 Remove old seal.
- 1.2 Clean sealing face on cylinder head cover -2- to remove oil and grease.
- 1.3 Insert new seal -1- in the cylinder head cover -2- .
Information
Fitting and sealing components using liquid sealant.
- Clean sealing faces to remove all traces of residual sealant.
- Sealing faces must be free of grease and oil.
- Clean sealing faces with primer Loctite 7515.
- Use liquid sealant Loctite 5970-BM.
Information
Install the cylinder head cover within five minutes of applying the liquid sealant.
- Apply liquid sealant Loctite 5970-BM -1-
on the cylinder head -2-
.
Applying sealant on cylinder head (cylinder bank 1)
Information
Before fitting the cylinder head cover, check that the rocker arms are aligned correctly.
- Align cylinder head cover -1-
using > T40116 - locating pins-2-
and fit it on the cylinder head.

- Secure cylinder head cover -25-
.

Tightening sequence for cylinder head cover (cylinder bank 1)
- 4.1 Screw in screws uniformly in the sequence -1 to 24- until they are touching the cylinder head cover -25- .
- 4.2
Tighten screws in the sequence -1 to 24-
.
> Initial tightening 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
> Final tightening 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
- 4.3 > T40116 - Locating pins must now be pulled off.
- 4.4 Close off bearing tunnels with rubber caps.
