Removing Upper Chain Housing Cover - Cylinder Bank 2

Vacuum line holder

1. 1.1  Unclip the vacuum line -2-  from the holder -1-  .
2. 1.2  Loosen and remove holder -1-  .

Chain housing cover holder

1. 2.1  Unscrew nuts -2-  .
2. 2.2  Remove holder -1-  .

Upper chain housing cover on cylinder bank 2

1. 3.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connections for actuators for camshaft controllers -9-  .
2. 3.2  Unclip retaining clips -10 and 11-  and move electric lines aside.
3. 3.3  Unscrew screws on upper chain housing cover -1 to 8-  .

Upper chain housing cover

1. 4.1  Secure upper chain housing cover -1-  to prevent it from falling down.
2. 4.2  Carefully heat sealing faces on upper chain housing cover -1-  using a hot-air gun.

   Make sure not to damage any add-on parts with hot air!

3. 4.3  Carefully insert a suitable tool at the press-off tabs -Arrows-  on the upper chain housing cover -1-  .
4. 4.4  Carefully lever upper chain housing cover -1-  off the cylinder head.
