Removing Crankshaft

- Loosen crankshaft bearing covers -1-

Crankshaft bearing covers
- 1.1 Mark position of crankshaft bearing covers -1- .
- 1.2 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3- .
- Remove bearing covers -2-
using > T40332 - puller (-1-)
and > VW771 - multi-purpose tool
and set them down so that they cannot get mixed up.
Using special tool for bearing covers
1 > T40332 - Puller 2 Crankshaft bearing covers 3 Grub screws - for securing the puller on the bearing cover 4 Threaded bores - for holding the grub screws - Remove crankshaft -1-

Crankshaft
- 3.1 Remove crankshaft -1- from the crankcase -2- with the help of another person and set it down on a clean surface.
- 3.2 Remove bearing shells and set them down with the corresponding crankshaft bearing covers so that they cannot get mixed up.
