Instructions for painting rear apron (vehicles with Lane Change Assist)
- Cover on assistance system not painted correctly.
- Protective film or stickers in the area of the assistance system.
- To prevent malfunctions in the assistance system, the specified parameters must always be observed when painting covers near the assistance system.
- Do not affix protective film or stickers in the assistance system area.

Installation position of Lane Change Assist
The maximum paint layer thickness > Layer thickness 150 μm must not be exceeded on covers in the Lane Change Assist control unit area.
Plastic repairs must not be carried out in the area within a radius of at least -X- > Distance 25 cm .
Filler work must not be carried out in the area within a radius of at least -X- > Distance 25 cm .
Spot-painting or spot-repair in the Lane Change Assist control unit area is not permitted.
A cover with original paintwork done at the factory may be surface-painted max. once (S2)2) in the event of repairs.
A spare part may be re-painted (S1) max. once 1) and surface-painted (S2) once2) .
Before starting to paint, scratch-test the adjacent area to check whether the cover has already been repainted.
If in doubt, always replace the cover.
