Removing D-Pillar Reinforcement (Section)

IMPORTANT:
  • Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.
  1. Mark and make cut. Distance approx. 37 mm

  2. Unscrew self-tapping screws

  3. Remove punch rivets -2-  using VAS 852 001 - Body Dent Removal System, Aluminium  and VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  .

  4. Heat the marked bonding areas using V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .

  5. Right side only:  Remove punch rivets using VAS 852 001 - Body Dent Removal System, Aluminium  and VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  .

  6. Right side only:  Heat the marked bonding areas using V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .

  7. Remove D-pillar reinforcement (section) -1-  by pulling it outwards -arrow-  .
