Reading Out And Erasing Fault Memory

NOTIFICATION 

Voltage drop 

• Irreparable damage to control unit 
• Damage to control unit 
• Fault entries in the control unit 
• Control unit programming/coding is aborted 
• Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming 
  1. → Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
  2. → Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
  3. → Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

Always make sure that the power supply on the vehicle is not interrupted while working with the Porsche System Tester. A battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.

The Porsche System Tester instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different or additional text may be displayed in the Porsche System Tester.

The Porsche System Tester is connected to the vehicle via the diagnostic socket -1-  . The diagnostic socket -1-  is located under the dashboard at the left in the passenger compartment.

Diagnostic socket

1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
2. Select the vehicle type if required.
3. In the overview  , press F7 to switch to the Additional menu. 

   The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.

4. Select Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary  and press F12 to continue.
5. Check existing faults and press F8 to delete faults.
6. Delete faults by pressing F12 (Yes) or press F11 if you decide not to delete the faults.
7. Press F11 to return to the selection.
