Creating Vehicle Analysis Log (Val)

Information 

Always make sure that the power supply on the vehicle is not interrupted while working with the Porsche System Tester. A battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.

The Porsche System Tester instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different or additional text may be displayed in the Porsche System Tester.

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type if required.
  3. In the overview,  press F7 to switch to the Additional menu. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  4. VAL  must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  5. AS VAL  or OBD VAL  must be selected. Press F8 to continue.
  6. Data is read. Check the chassis number and correct it if necessary.
  7. Select the log type. Press F12 to continue. The log is created.
  8. Save the log. Press F4.
  9. Log management  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
  10. Press F10 to display the log.
  11. If you want to print the log, connect a printer and start printing by selecting the relevant option in the menu bar.
  12. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
