Diagnostic System: Performing Vehicle Handover

- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming
- → Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
- → Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
- → Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.

The PIWIS Tester instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester .
The Porsche System Tester is connected to the vehicle via the diagnostic socket. The diagnostic socket is located under the dashboard at the left in the passenger compartment.

- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if required.
- Switch to the Additional menu in the overview. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Vehicle handover must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- Perform vehicle handover in accordance with menu guidance.
- Once the message Transport protection was removed successfully appears, press F12 to continue.
- The menu item Write service interval appears. Select the correct country for this vehicle in the country selection screen and press F12 to continue.
- If the vehicle is a new vehicle, press F8 (Yes) to continue.
- Once the message Service interval was written successfully appears, press F12
- For vehicles on which a fault was detected, press F11 to go back and perform vehicle handover again.
- For vehicles on which no faults were detected, press F12 to continue.
- Chassis number is correct?. Press F12 to confirm and then press F11 to return to the data entry screen.
- Switch to Log management and press F12
- Archive the vehicle handover log file.
- Return to the overview of all control units.
- Press F7 to continue.
- Start the menu Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary by pressing F12.
- Carry out a test drive and read out the fault memory.
- 18.1 Check faults after diagnosis if necessary and erase the fault memory before delivering the vehicle.
