Removing Rear Panel

Information 

Carefully bend the guide away. The upper section of the bonding area must not become detached.

Only for Powerlift tailgate with virtual pedal (I-no. 4E6). 

1. Loosen sensor for rear lid opening function from rear panel.
   1. 1.1  Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on control unit for virtual pedal (VIP).

   2. 1.2  Unclip line bracket -2-  from rear panel.

   3. 1.3  Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on control unit for virtual pedal (VIP).

   4. 1.4  Cut tie-wrap on sensor and wire harness -2-  .

   5. 1.5  Secure control unit for virtual pedal (VI P) on rear apron with adhesive tape.
2. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  .

3. Drill out rivets -Arrows-  on heat shield.

4. Loosen guides at the side -1-  (-Arrows-  ) until the fastenings for the rear panel are accessible.
