Installing A-Pillar Reinforcement (Lower Part)

IMPORTANT:
- Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface.
IMPORTANT:
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Install A-pillar reinforcement [lower part] and check that it fits perfectly.
- Apply adhesive on joint areas -A-
of the body. > Application depth 0.5 mm

A-pillar reinforcement (lower part)
- 3.1 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm
- Rivet in A-pillar reinforcement [lower part] in areas -A-

Rivet areas
- Plug-weld the A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) in areas -B-
using inert gas.
Welding areas
- Resistance spot-weld the A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) in areas -C-
.
Welding areas
- Apply a full weld to the A-pillar reinforcement (upper and lower part) > A-pillar reinforcement (upper part and lower part)
using inert gas.
