Preparing Outer Roof Pillar For Installation

1. 1.1 Fit in outer roof pillar > Outer roof pillar.
  Check gap dimensions.

2. 1.2 Make cuts through the outer roof pillar > Outer roof pillar and body in the overlap areas.
Punch holes for flow-form rivets in area -A- > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit and > VAS 6790 - compact booster .

Flow-form rivets
Punch holes for flow-form rivets at the rear > Rear flow-form rivets using > VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit, aluminum and > VAS 6790 - Compact booster .

Rear flow-form rivets
Drill bore holes for rivets in area -B- . > Diameter 6.6 mm

Remove outer roof pillar.
Cut sheetmetal insert used as a welding backing strip for the weld areas to size from the old outer roof pillar.

Prepare connection areas > Connection areas for bonding and riveting.
