Removing Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Rear

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of main wire harness 

• Risk of damage to lines 
  1. → The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
  2. → The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
  3. → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Information 

The cutting ring -1-  and Voss threaded joint -2-  must remain on the air line -3-  .

1. Expose valve unit.

   1. 1.1  Loosen union nuts -1-  , but do not unscrew fully until residual air has escaped.
   2. 1.2  Remove air lines from valve unit.
   3. 1.3  Close off all openings using suitable stoppers.
2. Unclip line bracket -1-  for section of line for air suspension system.

3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for rear right angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment (HBA).

   > 947919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANGLE SENSOR FOR HEADLIGHT BEAM ADJUSTMENT (HBA)

4. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for rear right air spring bellows.

   > 434355 REPLACING AIR SPRING BELLOWS

5. Unclip line bracket -1-  for section of line for rear axle.
