Removing Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of main wire harness 

• Risk of damage to lines 
  1. → The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
  2. → The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
  3. → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on rear door.

2. Disconnect electric line for door electrics.

   1. 2.1  Press locking lugs together -Arrows-  and disengage mounting housing -1-  .
   2. 2.2  Pull electric line out of the B-pillar.
3. Release and disconnect electric plug connections on belt retractor.

4. Unclip line bracket -1-  and set electric line for right B-pillar -2-  down in the passenger compartment.

5. Lift up carpet at the rear right -1-  until the electric wire harness is accessible.

6. Remove rear sound absorbers -1-  .

7. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for airbag sensor on right B-pillar -1-  .

8. Unclip cable duct at the right -2-  from inner sill -arrow A-  and -arrow B-  .

9. Unclip line bracket at connection point for passenger seat -1-  .

10. Remove footwell outlet vent at the right -1-  .

12. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for route detection control unit.

13. Unscrew fastening nut -1-  on ground point at the bottom of the right B-pillar and remove ground lines -2-  .

14. Remove electric lines at the disconnection element.

15. Remove electric lines at the power distributor.

    > 978919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER DISTRIBUTOR 

16. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  at connection point on bottom of right A-pillar.

17. Unscrew fastening nut -2-  on ground point at the bottom of the right A-pillar and remove ground line -3-  .

18. Unclip line bracket -1-  and set electric wire harness for right B-pillar -2-  down in the footwell.

19. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for front right door.

20. Loosen electric wire harness for door electrics at the right.

    1. 20.1  Press locking lug -Arrow-  and disengage mounting housing -1-  .
    2. 20.2  Pull electric wire harness out of the A-pillar.
21. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for (front) PDCC control unit.
