Loosening Main Wire Harness In Plenum Panel

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of main wire harness 

• Risk of damage to lines 
  1. → The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
  2. → The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
  3. → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

1. Unclip and open grommet for main wire harness in right plenum panel -1-  .

2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for ignition module for front lid (pedestrian protection) at the right -1-  .

3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for alarm siren -2-  .

4. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for air quality sensor -3-  .

5. Unclip line bracket -1-  with electric lines -2-  .

9. Unclip line bracket -2-  and disconnect main wire harness for plenum panel.

10. Disconnect windscreen washer system hose from front lid.

    Hose

    1. 10.1  Pull grommet -1-  out of the front lid -arrow-  .
    2. 10.2  Unclip hose fastenings -2-  on the hinge.
    3. 10.3  Pull hose out of the lid.
11. Remove expansion rivet -1-  .

12. Pull filler neck -2-  up and remove it.
