Removing Roof (Carbon Roof)
CAUTION:
Pointed or sharp objects
- Risk of cracks, pricks or cuts
- Wear personal protective gear.
Information
Cover adjacent areas.
- Cover accessories adjacent to the repair area on the vehicle.
- Cover any accessories remaining on the vehicle.
Information
- Protect paint area of the side panel using protective film from the tool set while piercing/cutting.
- Press evenly without using too much force.
- Get another person to monitor the process from outside.
- If the scratch awl can be seen at the outside, stop immediately and re-position the scratch awl using less force.
Information
If it is difficult to position > VAS 861 001A - Window removal set correctly for removing the glass, the cutting cord can be deflected into the bores on the bodyshell using a suitable tool.
- Disconnect rear wiring harness -1-

Rear wiring harness
- 1.1 Loosen brackets -2- and leave rear wiring harness hanging.
- Remove side seals -1-
from roof (carbon roof). -Arrow-
Side seals
- 2.1 If the side seal cannot -1- be removed, carefully cut it off using a utility knife without damaging body or roof (carbon roof).
- Pull cutting cord into the passenger compartment.
- Cut through rear adhesive bead -1-

Rear adhesive bead
- 4.1 Position glass removal tool in rear left corner.
- 4.2 Guide cutting cord -2- along behind positioning pin.
- 4.3 Tie hook -3- to cutting cord and engage in bore on side rail.
- 4.4 Cut through rear adhesive bead -1- .
- Cut through left adhesive bead -1-

Left adhesive bead
- 5.1 Pull cutting cord -2- back into the passenger compartment.
- 5.2 Position glass removal tool in front left corner.
- 5.3 Engage hook -2- in bore in the cowl panel.
- 5.4 Cut through left adhesive bead -1- .
- Cut through right adhesive bead -1-

Right adhesive bead
- 6.1 Pull cutting cord -2- back into the passenger compartment.
- 6.2 Position glass removal tool in front right corner.
- 6.3 Engage hook -3- in bore in the cowl panel.
- 6.4 Cut through right adhesive bead -1- .
- Cut through front adhesive bead -1-

Front adhesive bead
- 7.1 Pull cutting cord -2- back into the passenger compartment.
- 7.2 Position glass removal tool in front left corner (must be re-positioned from angle to front and side joint).
- 7.3 Guide cutting cord -2- along behind positioning pin.
- 7.4 Tie hook -3- to cutting cord -2- and engage in bore on side rail.
- 7.5 Affix windscreen seal to the front and guide cutting cord along under windscreen seal.

Cutting tool must be re-positioned to reduce cutting forces. -Items A-B-
Cutting tool positions
Information
Two people are required on both sides of the vehicle in order to remove and fit the carbon-fibre composite roof on the body.
Thee must be four people at the vehicle in order to remove and fit the carbon-fibre composite roof.

Cutting tool must be re-positioned to reduce cutting forces. -Items A-B-
- Remove roof (carbon roof) using suction cups.
