Installing Gusset Plate

Information

Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.

Install russet plate and check that it fit; perfectly.
Remove gusset plate.
Apply adhesive on bonding areas of body.

Bonding areas
1. 3.1 Apply adhesive to the marked areas spread it.
  > 5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE PAH.071.781.00
  
  > Application depth 0.5 mm
Apply adhesive to the gusset plate.

Bonding areas
1. 4.1 Apply adhesive to the surface of the marked area.
  > Application depth 0.5 mm
2. 4.2 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surfaces.
  > Application depth 3 mm
Position gusset plate and secure it to the body.
Loosen gusset plate.

Inner joints
1. 6.1 Tighten self-tapping screws -1- .
  > 5X00IN24 SETTING SELF-TAPPING SCREWS
2. 6.2 At positions -A- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.227.01 .
3. 6.3 At positions -B- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.230.01 .
Loosen gusset plate.

Underbody joints
1. 7.1 Tighten self-tapping screw -1- .
  > 5X00IN24 SETTING SELF-TAPPING SCREWS
2. 7.2 At positions -A- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.227.01 .
3. 7.3 At positions -B- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.230.01 .
Loosen gusset plate.

Longitudinal member area
1. 8.1 Tighten self-tapping screws -1- .
  > 5X00IN24 SETTING SELF-TAPPING SCREWS
2. 8.2 At position -A- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.229.01 .
3. 8.3 At positions -B- > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.227.01 .
