Calibrating Surround View Camera

NOTIFICATION 

Voltage drop 

• Irreparable damage to control unit 
• Damage to control unit 
• Fault entries in the control unit 
• Control unit programming/coding is aborted 
• Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming 
  1. Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
  2. Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
  3. Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to the vehicle battery.

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
2. Select the vehicle type if required.
3. Select the Assistance systems  control unit in the overview.  Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
4. Coding/programming  must be selected.
5. Automatic coding  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
6. The Tester displays the message: Coding successful.
7. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected.
8. Surround View camera calibration  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
9. Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
10. Start the calibration process by pressing F8.
11. The Tester displays the message: Calibration completed successfully.  Press F12 to continue.
12. Read out the fault memory and delete any fault entries.
13. Check the function and image quality of the surround view camera.
14. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
