Calibrating Reversing Camera Control Unit
NOTIFICATION
Voltage drop
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding
- Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
- Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
- Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The PIWIS Tester instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester.
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Place original remote control in emergency start tray.

- Select the vehicle type if necessary.
- In the Overview, select the control unit for chassis control. Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Select fault memory.
- 5.1 Read out all fault memories, process and delete existing faults if necessary.
- Go back to the Overview.
- In the Overview, select the camera system control unit. Press F12 to continue.
- Select Coding Programming.
- Select Automatic coding.
Press F12 to continue.
- 9.1 The tester displays the message: Coding successfully performed.
- Select Maintenance/repairs.
- Select Calibrating the reversing camera.
Press F12 to continue.
- 11.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- 11.2 Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
- 11.3 The tester displays the message: Calibration of the reversing camera was completed successfully
- Go back to the Overview.
- In the Overview, press F7 to switch to the Additional menu.
- Read out all fault memories, process and delete existing faults if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
- Check the function and image quality of the reversing camera control unit.
