Preliminary Work (Vehicles With Reversing Camera Option)

Information 

Calibrating the reversing camera balances the tires, chassis tolerances and installation tolerances of the camera.

Information 

Calibration must only be performed on level ground.

On vehicles with air suspension, switch on ignition, close the doors and set the air suspension level to Normal level (MEDIUM HEIGHT).

Overview and explanation of terms

1 and 2  Wheel centre support with reflectors
3 and 8  Distance meter anchor block
Height-adjustable calibration plate base
Line laser
Distance measuring unit
Spirit level for adjusting calibration plate horizontally in X and Y direction and cut-out for measuring calibration plate height
Calibration pattern
Distance between calibration plate and vehicle, equal on both sides
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and set up the > VAS 6350A - calibration unit  behind the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350. > Set-up overview

    MP 1 to 4  Measurement points
    X1  Distance from calibration board to right reflector
    X2  Distance from calibration board to left reflector
    Height of camera from floor

  2. Fit the wheel centre mountings and reflectors on the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350. The reflectors must be hanging freely. > Fitting reflectors

  3. Align the work surface with the centre of the vehicle and adjust the line laser to suit the calibration plate in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350.
  4. Clean reversing camera using a soft, clean cloth.
