Condition
The customer complains that daylight savings time will not take effect. Possibly, there may be complaint that the PCM did not adjust the time when the customer changed time zones.
Technical Background
There is a mismatch between the actual time (as correctly reported by the GPS) and the time displayed to the customer by the vehicle system. The vehicle system time does not reflect the one-hour adjustments for daylight savings time or possibly the time zone change.
Service Information
You can solve this condition quickly by disabling and re-enabling automatic time sync and automatic time zone.
Follow these steps:
- Click on the upper right hand corner of the PCM screen. (By default a clock is located here.)
- Click "Time Settings" on the following menu.
- Then uncheck the boxes for "Automatic time sync" and "Automatic time zone".
- Exit this screen and repeat steps a and b. Then check those same boxes
This correction should fix the issue and the incorrect time will not be displayed again
