Removing Automatic Transmission
WARNING:
Danger of objects or loads falling down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
CAUTION:
Heavy components
- Risk of squashing
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Get someone to help if necessary.
CAUTION:
Round slings and retaining straps overloaded due to incorrect use
- Round slings/retaining straps can tear
- Components can fall down
→ When suspending loads, the angle between the vertical position of the mounting and the round sling/retaining strap must not be more than 60°.
- Release the wire harness of the rear-axle module and set it aside.
- 1.1 Top:
Unscrew screw -5-
. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 to 4-
and unclip wiring harness -Arrows-

- 1.2 Bottom: Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 to 3- and unclip wiring harness -Arrows- .
Wire harness on the rear-axle module - Bottom
- 1.1 Top:
Unscrew screw -5-
. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 to 4-
and unclip wiring harness -Arrows-
.
- Lift the rear-axle module -3- .
Lifting the rear-axle module with round slings and workshop crane
- 2.1 Fasten two > VAS 501 017 - round slings-7- and two > VAS 501 015 - round slings-1- to the brackets -2- as shown.
- 2.2 Position > 3033 - lifting tackle-5- above the rear-axle module using a > VAS 6100 - workshop crane-6- .
- 2.3 Engage round slings -1 and 7- in the spring hooks of the > 3033 - lifting tackle-5- .
- 2.4 Check the position of the spindles -Arrows- and adjust the height by turning the adjusting handles.
- 2.5 Lift the rear-axle module -3- off the > VAS 6832/11 - assembly device for rear axle-4- using a > VAS 6100 - workshop crane-6- and set it down on a pallet.
