Subsequent Work

For bottom position sensor: 

1. Install cover for rear underbody.

   > 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY - information on "Installing".

   For top position sensor: 

2. Install body cover -1-  in the luggage compartment.

   The tab on the cover must be aligned with the cut-out in the luggage compartment floor (position of cut-out in luggage compartment floor -arrow-  )!

   Cover for body in rear luggage compartment

   1. 2.1 Press on the cover.
3. Install trim panel for luggage compartment (luggage compartment cover).

   > 70061900 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (CENTRE) LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT COVER) - information on "Installing".

4. Start the vehicle.

   > Refer to the appropriate Service Information .

5. If a position sensor was removed and installed or  replaced:
   1. 5.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and start the PIWIS Tester. Switch on ignition.
   2. 5.2 Start the diagnostic software.
   3. 5.3 Select "Engine electronics (DME)" control unit.
   4. 5.4 Select the Maintenance/repairs tab.
   5. 5.5 Select the "Replace position sensors"  procedure with F12.
   6. 5.6 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
