- Install front-axle support (rear section).
- Installing wheel bearing housing.
> 405019 REMOVE AND INSTALL WHEEL BEARING HOUSING - INFORMATION ON "INSTALLING" .
WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.
- Lift the wheel suspension to zero position using lifting > VAS 6931 - transmission and gearbox jack

Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)
- Tighten new
collar nuts -3-
on the spring-strut mount.
> Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) > Torque angle + 45 °
Air-spring strut and drive shaft
- Tighten new
collar nut -3-
on spring fork and counter at screw -4-
.
> Tightening torque 90 Nm (67 ftlb.)
> Torque angle + 120 °
Air-spring strut fork
- Fill the air-spring strut using the function on the Piwis Tester ("Filling an air spring").
- Fill the level control.

- Install cowl panel cover.
