Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Unscrew nut -1- at ground point on cross member in seat well -2- and remove ground lines -3- .

Unscrew nuts -1- on cable duct in rear door sill -2- and set down main wire harness at left side of passenger compartment -3- in the footwell -arrow- .

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for airbag sensor on B-pillar.
> 695119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIRBAG SENSOR
Release and disconnect electric plug connections for front three-point belt.
> 691119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT THREE-POINT BELT
Disconnect electric wire harness for rear door.

1. 5.1 Release locking lug -1- (-arrow A- ) and guide out mounting housing -arrow B- .
2. 5.2 Guide electric wire harness for rear door out of the B-pillar.

Unscrew nuts -1- on cable duct in front door sill -2- and set down main wire harness at left side of passenger compartment -3- in the footwell -arrow- .

Remove control unit for front-end electronics.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for thermal management control unit.
> 192919 THERMAL MANAGEMENT CONTROL UNIT
Loosen fuse box in left footwell.
> 978409 LOOSENING AND SECURING FUSE BOX IN FOOTWELL
Unclip clip -1- .

2. 15.2 Guide electric wire harness for front door out of the A-pillar.
Release and disconnect electric plug connections for Bluetooth control unit.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for over-the-air control unit.
> 919819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OVER-THE-AIR CONTROL UNIT
Loosen sleeve -3- .
