Technical Background

The components installed in the vehicle for the panoramic roof work together to manage water intrusion as a system.
There are three primary components working together.
- The outer seal - seals the body to the glass to stop water from coming in. This is the first line of defense.
- The frame of the panoramic roof - water channels are built into the frame, any water making it past the first line of defense is handled by this second line of defense.
- The front and rear drains - receive water from the frame and provide a path for water to exit the vehicle at the wheel wells.
