Checking Engine Oil Pressure

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 

    → Let the fluid cool down.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials 
  • Danger of fire or explosion 

    → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

    → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

    → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

    → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.

    → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

Test conditions for checking engine oil pressure 

  1. > V.A.G 1342 - Oil Pressure Tester  must be screwed onto the bore on the oil-pressure sender. Secure test hose out of the way.
  2. Screw oil-pressure sender into > V.A.G 1342 - Oil Pressure Tester  and insert plug connection.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Check engine oil pressure.
    • Engine oil pressure at idle speed: > Overpressure 0.9 bar 
    • Engine oil pressure at 2, 000 rpm: > Overpressure 1.3 bar 
  5. Disconnect plug connection on the oil-pressure sender and unscrew oil-pressure sender from the > V.A.G 1342 - Oil Pressure Tester  .
  6. Loosen adapter and remove > V.A.G 1342 - Oil Pressure Tester  .
