Preparing Rear Wheel Housing (Inner Section)

  1. Cut rear wheel housing (inner section) according to the cut-out in the body.

  2. Remove remaining piece -1-  on the spare part -2-  .

    Remaining piece

    1. 2.1 Remove spotwelds -3-  and drill holes for plug-welding.
    2. 2.2 Heat adhesive in the marked area using > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .
    3. 2.3 Remove remaining piece -1-  from the spare part -2-  .
  3. Secure rear wheel housing (inner section) to the body.
  4. Drill holes for blind rivets through both sheetmetal plates. > Diameter 6.6 mm

  5. Remove rear wheel housing (inner section).
  6. Prepare surfaces on the rear wheel housing (inner section) on the inside.

    Preparing inner surfaces

    A  Preparation for plug-welding.
    B  Preparation for bonding and resistance spot-welding.

    C  Preparation for bonding and riveting.

    D  Preparation for applying a full weld using inert gas.
  7. Prepare surfaces on the rear wheel housing (inner section) on the outside.

    Preparing outer surfaces

    A  Preparation for plug-welding.
    B  Preparation for bonding and resistance spot-welding.

    C  Preparation for bonding and riveting.
