Installing Lower Front Roof Cross Member

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Install lower front roof cross member and check that it fits perfectly.
2. Remove lower front roof cross member.
3. Apply adhesive evenly on the joint area of the body.

   > Application depth 0.5 mm

4. Apply adhesive evenly on the front roof cross member -1-  at the bottom.

   > Application depth 0.5 mm 

   Preparing lower front roof cross member for resistance spot-welding, bonding and riveting

   1. 4.1 Also apply an adhesive bead of sealant all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm 
5. Install lower front roof cross member -1-  .
   1. 5.1 Rivet in lower front roof cross member -1-  using > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.229.01  .

   2. 5.2 Also apply an adhesive bead of sealant all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm 
   3. 5.3 Resistance spot-weld lower front roof cross member -A-  .

      Installing lower front roof cross member

   4. 5.4 Apply a full weld on lower front roof cross member.
   5. 5.5 Bend up sheet-metal bracket -1-  .
