Subsequent Work

  1. Lower the vehicle.

    > 4X00IN - LIFTING THE VEHICLE

  2. Calibrate level sensor and adjust it if necessary.
    1. 2.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle, start it and switch on the ignition.
    2. 2.2 Teach headlight beam adjustment.

      Vehicle with equipment I-no. 1BA (suspension/dampers, standard) and 8Q3 (headlight beam adjustment, automatic dynamic): 

      • Select the central headlight  control unit in the control unit overview  .
      • Select the Teach headlight beam adjustment  function in the Maintenance/repairs  menu and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester  .

      Vehicle with equipment I-no. 1BA (suspension/dampers, standard) and 8Q2 (headlight beam adjustment, automatic static): 

      • Select the Front-end electronics  control unit in the control unit overview  .
      • Select the Teach headlight beam adjustment  function in the Maintenance/repairs  menu and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester  .

      Vehicle with equipment I-no. 1BK (4 corner air suspension with electrically regulated damping) or 1BH (suspension/dampers, standard 2): 

      • Select the Levelling system/PASM  control unit in the control unit overview  .
      • Select the Teach headlight beam adjustment  function in the Maintenance/repairs  menu and follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester  .
    3. 2.3 For vehicles with PASM, calibrate the levelling system.

    4. 2.4 Read out fault memory.
    5. 2.5 Adjust the headlights if necessary.
