Checking Brake Booster Vacuum Pump (V6 Turbo)

Vacuum hose for secondary load connection (V6 Turbo)

1. 1.1 Disconnect vacuum hose for secondary load connection -2-  from brake booster vacuum pump -1-  .
2. 1.2 Connect a vacuum tester > VAS 6213 - hand vacuum pump  to the brake booster vacuum pump -1-  .
3. 1.3 Move the lever on the vacuum tester to Open (vacuum).
4. 1.4 Start the engine and leave it running at idle speed with slightly varying revs.

   Information 

   If the vacuum is not maintained, i.e. the pointer moves towards 0 bar, the brake booster vacuum pump is faulty.

5. 1.5 Check for a vacuum of at least 600 mbar or 0.6 bar.
6. 1.6 Stop the engine, remove special tool and connect vacuum hose for secondary load connection -2-  to the brake booster vacuum pump -1-  again.
