Installing Upper Trailing Arm

WARNING:
Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- 1.1 Before tightening the upper trailing arm screws: Lift wheel suspension to zero position using >
VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack
. > Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)

- 1.2 Replace screws and nuts on the trailing arm.
- 1.3 Replace clamping screw and nut on wheel bearing housing.
- 1.4 Tighten screws securing upper trailing arm to body -5-
.
> Initial tightening 50 Nm
> Final tightening + 90°
- 1.5 Tighten clamping screw on wheel bearing housing -3-
.
> Tightening torque 45 Nm
