Loosen screw on drive shaft -1- .

Drive shaft screw
1. 1.1 Pull off wheel trim cover -2- with > 9229/1 - puller hook .
2. 1.2 Loosen screw on drive shaft -1- and get a second mechanic to press the brake at the same time.
Remove shock absorber fork (spring strut fork).
> 408919 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING SHOCK ABSORBER FORK - SECTION ON "REMOVING"
Remove heat shield front axle carrier.
> 404319 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING SHIELD (FRONT AXLE CARRIER) - SECTION ON "REMOVING"
1. 3.1 Left drive shaft: Removing heat shield for unit carrier.
2. 3.2 Right drive shaft: Loosen shield for unit carrier and push it to one side.
