Preliminary Work

Information 

If the central computer must be replaced, the specific customer data must be deleted before removal.

• Select Car, Control, System, Reset factory settings  in the PCM.

Resetting to factory settings will delete all  settings/data.

NOTIFICATION 

Incorrect handling of optical waveguides 

• Risk of damage to optical waveguide 
  1. → Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

NOTIFICATION 

Voltage peaks 

• Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit 
  1. → Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key outside of the transmission range (at least 5 m).
  2. → Switch off electrical loads before disconnecting or removing them.

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work. 
• Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation. 
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts. 

1. Open the glove compartment.
2. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  from the central computer mounting -2-  .

3. Pull mounting for central computer down slightly at the front -arrow A-  and release locking lugs -arrows B-  .

4. Swivel out mounting for central computer -1-arrow A-  and pull it out -arrow B-  .

5. Continue to pull out the central computer mounting and turn it towards the passenger seat in order to reach the electric plug connections.

   MOST plug connection

   1. 5.1  Release MOST plug connection -1-Arrow-  and disconnect it.
6. Release securing clip swivel it upwards -Arrow-  and disconnect combination connector -2-  .
