Removing centre side member

Information

Mark cut in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

Installation position of centre side member

Determine cut.
1. 1.1 Mark cuts -A;B- measuring -X- and -Y- on the side member.
2. 1.2 > Length, dimension X380 mm > Length, dimension Y 110 mm
3. 1.3 Cut through centre side member. > V.A.G 1561B - Electric cutter > VAS 6780 - Body saw
4. 1.4 Cut through the centre side member at the marked connection point -A- using the oscillating body saw.
5. 1.5 Cut through the centre side member at the marked connection point using the oscillating body saw.

Also cut through the reinforcement lying underneath -1- in area -A- .

Mill off spotwelds.

3.1 Mill off spotwelds in area -C;D;E- using a spotweld cutter.
