Installing Windscreen
CAUTION:
Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to:
- The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
- Curing time: 2 hours
- Temperature: at least 10°C
- Fixing time: approx. 1 hour
Information
- Apply adhesive and install the windscreen within the standing time -15 min.- .
- To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30 mm long bead of fresh adhesive to a piece of cardboard before using it.
Information
Check stop bits and replace if necessary.
- Prepare adhesive for processing.

- The adhesive bead must overlap by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and end.
- Use > VAS 5237 - Double cartridge gun
to apply adhesive along the preliminary coat on the windscreen or on the primer as a triangular bead measuring -dimension X-
.
>Application depth 15 mm
Information
- Two people required.
- Insert the windscreen into the body.
- 3.1 Affix suction cups to the windscreen.
- 3.2 Guide the windscreen into the window aperture.
- 3.3 Position the windscreen on the lower edge -arrows A- and fit it -arrow B- .
- Adjust windscreen gap.
- 4.1 Adjust the size of the gap -X-
by moving the windscreen. > Gap dimension 3.0 mm
- 4.2 Remove suction cups.
- 4.3 Secure the windscreen with adhesive tape -1- to prevent it from slipping.
- 4.1 Adjust the size of the gap -X-
by moving the windscreen. > Gap dimension 3.0 mm
- Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible areas using cleaning agent.
- Remove adhesive tape -1-
and disconnect all electric plug connections from the windscreen.
- Plug in electric plug connections on the A-pillar at the left and right.
- Plug in electric plug connections on antennas on both sides of the vehicle.
