Installing Wheel

NOTE: Removing/fitting wheels

Risk of damage to (ceramic) brake discs
→ Use two assembly pins when removing and fitting the wheel.

→ Carefully guide the wheel towards the wheel hub, thereby preventing any heavy impact on the (ceramic) brake disc.

Information

For vehicles with Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM):

Every new set of wheels or wheel change must be communicated to the control unit. Even if the new wheels have the same specifications as the old ones .
To do this, call up Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM) in the central display. The vehicle must be stationary .
Path: >> Settings → Vehicle → Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM) → Pressure deviation, Tyre selection, Full load << Enter or set the relevant values (yes/no) and confirm them .
Read and follow the information on the display: The control unit stores these values while the vehicle is driving (at more than 25 km/h (16 mph)). The current tyre pressure is not displayed during this time .

Assembly aids (threaded bolts for fitting wheel)

Information

During removal and installation, use two assembly aids (threaded bolts for fitting wheel) -1- to prevent any heavy contact between the wheel and brake disc!
The assembly aids can be ordered using the Porsche Spare Parts Information.
To make fitting easier, a wheel fitting trolley can be used.

Information

The wheel bolts/security wheel bolts (thread and all surfaces) must not be greased!

In the event of heavy soiling, clean the wheel bolts and concavities in the rim with a lint-free cloth.
Clean wheel contact surfaces on the wheel hub and brake disc.
Re-grease or grease the wheel centring surfaces on the wheel hub -1- with a very thin coat of Optimoly TA (aluminium paste).
The wheel contact surface on the brake disc -2- and on the wheel itself must not be greased!

21-inch Exclusive wheels
- On vehicles with 21 -inch Exclusive wheels -1- , always check the rolling direction arrow -2- on the inside of the rim.
- Do not replace wheels from left to right!
Information

The use of power tools (impact bolter) for loosening and securing the wheel bolts is not permitted.

Fit wheel -1- .

4.1 Fit wheel -1- on the wheel hub. Fit three wheel bolts -2- (do not tighten yet).
4.2 Unscrew assembly aids (threaded bolts) and fit two wheel bolts -2- .
4.3 Lower the vehicle.

4.4 Tighten wheel bolts -2- .

> Tightening torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)
