Centring Camber On The Front Axle

Information 

The PDCC system can be active when the ignition is switched on (even when the vehicle is stationary). To avoid injury/crushing, only work near the anti-roll bar, lower trailing arm and bellows of the steering gear when the ignition is switched off and always allow for the run-on time of 60 seconds.

1. Removing front bumper.

4. Removing front-axle support.

5. Detach the radiator and condenser.

   1. 5.1  Removing screws from supports.
6. Removing screws from Tont-axle carrier -2 to 4- consecutively  .

   Replace screws!

   1. 6.1  To remove the front screws, press the -2-  radiator -1-  and condenser outwards -Arrow-  to ensure that the screws are accessible.

   2. 6.2  Only screw in the new  screws for the front axle by hand, but do not tighten  them.

      Information 

      • Camber at the front axle cannot be adjusted. But camber can be centred evenly within the tolerance range by moving the front-axle carrier. 
      • All axle adjustment values must be checked whenever the camber is adjusted. 
      • The front-axle carrier only needs to be moved if the camber values are not correct. 
7. Centre camber on the front axle.
   1. 7.1  Check camber value.

   2. 7.2  Raise the vehicle front at the lifting platform jacking points using an axle lift.
   3. 7.3  Fit plastic-coated tyre iron between front-axle carrier and body longitudinal member and move front-axle carrier in order to centre the camber
8. Tighten the new screws -2 to 4-  on the front axle carrier.

   > Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) 

   > Torque angle + 180 °

9. Check camber value again.

10. Install front-axle support.

11. Fasten radiator and support.

    Mounting for radiator/condenser support

    1. 11.1  Install and tighten screws -1-  for the support.

       > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

12. Install front air guide on the radiator and support.
