Removing Tie-Rod Ball
CAUTION:
Electrically moved components
- Danger of limbs being trapped
→ Switch off electric power to drive motor.
→ Make sure it does not switch on again.
→ Check that there is no electric charge.
Information
Once PDCC is ready for operation, chassis adjustments can be made. To avoid injury/crushing, only work near the anti-roll bar, lower trailing arms and bellows of the steering gear without establishing operational readiness and always allow for the run-on time of 60 seconds.

The procedure for removing and installing is described for one side as an example. The procedure for the other side is almost identical.
- Loosen tie-rod ball -1-
from wheel bearing housing -2-
.
- 1.1 Loosen nut -3- as far as the top of the joint pin -4- .
- 1.2 Press off tie-rod ball -1- using > T40010A - ball joint puller and remove it from the wheel bearing housing -2-
- .
- 1.3 Screw off nut -3- .
- 1.4 Pull tie-rod ball -1- out of the wheel bearing housing -2- .

Information
The position of the tie-rod ball must be marked. This makes it easier to adjust the toe.
- Detach tie-rod ball -1-
from tie rod -2-

- 2.1 Counter tie-rod ball -1- at the flattened areas -Arrows- using a suitable open-ended wrench.
- 2.2 Loosen lock nut -3- and mark position of tie-rod ball -1- .
- Unscrew tie-rod ball -1- and count and write down the number of turns.
