Removing Expansion Valve 1

NOTE: Opened refrigerant system for repairs. 
  • Risk of moisture getting into the refrigerant system. 
  • Risk of contaminating the refrigerant circuit. 
  • Risk of saturation and irreparable damage to desiccator. 
  • Irreparable damage to the desiccator can damage the compressor and evaporator. 

    → After opening the refrigerant circuit, close off the refrigerant lines/connections immediately using the relevant stoppers. To avoid contaminating the refrigerant circuit, the stoppers for the different refrigerants must be stored and used separately.

    → The desiccator must be replaced if the air humidity is high and if the refrigerant circuit is left open for a long time.

  1. Disconnect electric wire harness -1-  .
    1. 1.1 Unclip clips -2-  .
    2. 1.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -3-  .
    3. 1.3 Set electric wire harness -1-  aside.

  2. Remove expansion valve -1-  .
    1. 2.1 Unscrew nuts -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Unscrew screw -3-  and pull off refrigerant line -4-  .
    3. 2.3 Unscrew screw -5-  and carefully lift expansion valve holder -7-  from firewall until screw -5-  becomes accessible.
    4. 2.4 Detach expansion valve -1-  from refrigerant line -6-  and remove.
    5. 2.5 Close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
