Installing Expansion Valve 1
NOTE:
Opened refrigerant system for repairs.
- Risk of moisture getting into the refrigerant system.
- Risk of contaminating the refrigerant circuit.
- Risk of saturation and irreparable damage to desiccator.
- Irreparable damage to the desiccator can damage the compressor and evaporator.
→ After opening the refrigerant circuit, close off the refrigerant lines/connections immediately using the relevant stoppers. To avoid contaminating the refrigerant circuit, the stoppers for the different refrigerants must be stored and used separately.
→ The desiccator must be replaced if the air humidity is high and if the refrigerant circuit is left open for a long time.
- Install expansion valve -1-
.
- 1.1 Replace O-rings on refrigerant lines -4 and 6- .
- 1.2 Position expansion valve -1- and attach refrigerant line -6- .
- 1.3 Fit and tighten screw -5-
, then carefully lift expansion valve holder -7-
from firewall until screw -5-
becomes accessible.
> Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.)
- 1.4 Push on refrigerant line -4- .
- 1.5 Fit and tighten screw -3-
.
> Tightening torque 8 Nm (5.9 ftlb.)
- 1.6 Fit and tighten nuts -2-
.
> Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
Expansion valve
- Secure electric wire harness -1-
.
- 2.1 Position electric wire harness -1- .
- 2.2 Connect and lock electric plug connections -3- .
- 2.3 Clip in clips -2- .
