Installing Electric Air-Conditioning Compressor

→ Only appropriately trained and authorized persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
→ Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.
→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
→ Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set when working on these components.
→ Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.

Information
Before re-installing the component, replace the O-rings on the refrigerant lines.
Coat O-rings on the refrigerant lines with refrigerant oil SP-A2.
Close off all lines and connections using suitable stoppers during removal.
Do not open the stoppers for the lines and connections until shortly before installation.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
Electric plug connections must engage securely.
Tighten screw -3- securing refrigerant line to air-conditioning compressor to the prescribed tightening torque. > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
Refrigerant lines on air-conditioning compressor
Tighten screw -3- securing equipotential bonding line to electric air-conditioning compressor to the prescribed tightening torque. > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
Equipotential bonding line to air-conditioning compressor
Tighten nut -3- securing air-conditioning compressor holder to decoupling element to the prescribed tightening torque. > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
Electric air-conditioning compressor holder to decoupling element
If the decoupling elements were replaced: Tighten screws -3- to the specified tightening torque. > Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)
