Removing Pilot Line Connector

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components 
  • Electric shock 
  • Short circuit 
  • Fire 
  • Explosion 

    → Only appropriately trained and authorised persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set  when working on these components. Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.

  1. Unclip pilot line connector from guide on plenum panel.
  2. Release cover -1-  using a suitable tool -2-  and remove it from the housing -3-  (-Arrows-  ).

  3. Loosen fabric adhesive tape on electric line at the end of the connector and cut it off.
  4. Release secondary lock -1-  using a suitable tool -2-  (-arrow-  ).

    Information 

    CAUTION: Risk of damage to locking lugs.
  5. Release pins -1-  using press-out tool -2-  from > VAS 1978/35-20 - Release Tool Set  and pull them out carefully at the electric line -3-  .
