Charging 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Battery

Information 

• When working or carrying out tests on the vehicle or when the vehicle is in the workshop, a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A must be connected  .
• As soon as the vehicle is unlocked, e.g. the vehicle is in the workshop or salesroom, it must be trickle-charged using a battery charger  .

Information 

The lithium-ion battery must  be charged with a charge voltage of 14.4 volts.

Before charging the battery, check seeing parameters of the charger and change them if necessary. Follow the operating instructions for the charger to do this.

• Connect battery charger with at least > current 90 A  to vehicle battery.

Charge lithium-ion battery until the charging current is < 5 A.

Use > VAS 5908 - battery charger 90 A  .

1. Remove plenum panel cover.

2. Remove protection cap on positive terminal of the external power connection. -Arrow-

3. Connect a charger.
   1. 3.1  First, connect the positive cable of the charger to the positive terminal of the 12-volt lithium-ion battery.
   2. 3.2  Connect the negative cable of the charger to the ground point for jump-lead starting.

4. Read operating instructions for the charger.
5. Switch off all electrical loads.
6. Switch on the charger.
